Please Don’t Feed Waterfowl!
Help keep our beaches open!
You can help improve our waterfront by not feeding the geese, gulls and ducks. Waterfowl poop contains bacteria that can be a health hazard and causes our beaches to be closed.

BARC has launched a ‘Don’t Feed Waterfowl’ campaign to educate people on the health and environmental effects of feeding the geese and gulls along our waterfront.
- Waterfowl poop can be a
health hazard.
- Feeding can attract
many birds resulting in
excessive bird poop in
the sand and water.
- Excessive bird poop is
bad for water quality and
contributes to our
beaches being closed
for swimming.
- Waterfowl that eat bread or
scraps do not get
their natural nutrients. They
may be less healthy and
become dependent on
people.
- Waterfowl that are fed food
scraps lose their fear of
humans and can
become aggressive.
- Feeding waterfowl is
unhealthy for them
and for us!
- Feeding waterfowls = no
swimming at the beaches!
